The Capt George Cluster is a member of Haplogroup G2a. Recent discoveries have brought considerable resolution to the G phylogenetic tree. Reflecting the genetic distance of our Y-STR results, we have our own small branch on the tree, which in the diagram below is called Haplogroup G2a3b2, which is defined by the SNP, L177 (discovered at FTDNA in July 2009).
